An Incredible Red Sox Moment - And Way Overdue

This is a fantastic video; an awesome moment for Red Sox fans.

I used to be a baseball fanatic but one labor strike too many soured me on the game and the last several years I’ve barely looked at a game, other than an occasional Pirates game, and of course my beloved Red Sox in the World Series. But this year I’ve gotten involved in a fantasy baseball league and the old baseball fever has once again sprung forth, and I’m watching games and following box scores and paying attention to more than the Red Sox and Pirates.

I was watching the World Series back in 1986, in the crucial game 6. The media have tended to refer to it as “the Bill Buckner game” or something similar. I’ve always said it wasn’t all Bill’s fault. If the Sox bullpen had done their job, it never would have come to that moment in the first place.

But, instead, everything fell apart and Bill Buckner was made of symbol of Red Sox futility. But now, with the Red Sox the winner of two World Series in the last four years, they decided it was time to bring Bill Buckner back to Fenway and acknowledge what a key part he was of their 1986 AL Championship team. And so, this year, on the Red Sox home opener; the day they honored their champions and celebrated the 2007 World Series victory, they invited Bill Buckner to throw out the first pitch. And the response? Well, watch for yourself…

The Best Little League Game Ever…

How totally cool is this?!?

From the video info:

From http://www.ImprovEverywhere.com, a little league baseball game is turned into a major league event. All players, coaches, and parents do not know what is happening. We worked with the league commissioner to get the kids’ names and access to the field to setup our equipment the morning of the game. He was the only one in on it. NBC Sports worked with us and got us the jumbotron and the blimp.

This is one of over 70 different missions Improv Everywhere has executed over the past six years in New York City. Others include Frozen Grand Central, the Best Buy uniform prank, and the famous U2 Rooftop Hoax, to name a few. Visit the website to see tons of photos and video of all of our work, including behind the scenes information on how this video was made.

Custom Time in Gmail

Introducing Gmail Custom Time

Anybody else see this great new feature in Gmail? I’ve already used it a couple of times. I forgot my brother’s birthday, so I just used this and sent him a Happy Birthday email and marked it so as the date was the day before his birthday.

If you haven’t studied up on this yet, make sure you do so and take advantage of it. But don’t get carried away, like they say in the introduction, you only get to use it ten times in a year.
