Elliott Sadler ended up picking up a new pal along the way Thursday - Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Tommy Maddox.
Maddox recognized Sadler, who was in the local Dallas-Fort Worth area premier golfing facility, The Trophy Club. The Steelers QB wasn’t shy and introduced himself to Sadler by asking the question, “Hey aren’t you Elliott Sadler?” The two got together and apparently played a round together. Rumor had it that Sadler shot a 68 on the challenging course.
The friendship made it through the night as Maddox was at the track with Sadler this morning, wearing one of Sadler’s sponsor’s caps as he hoofed around the garage getting the VIP treatment.
Maddox made a special request to meet with Sadler’s driving partner, Dale Jarrett, which was fulfilled just prior to the Friday morning practice session.

hey dirt . . . whats up . . . you may be interested to know that i have had a 1929 model a roadster since i was 12 years old . . . after many years in the garage and with a lot of parts on it from other cars for other years . . . i brought the car home from storage at my mom’s (she livesa down in west by golly) anyway i brought the car home and my son jonathan and i have completely ‘brought the car back’ from the rusty pile that it once was . . . back in the 70’s when i first found the car out in a field . . . it had a 40’s ford flat head in it with a similiar era transmission and rear end . . . it was painted 70’s burnt orange from top ot bottom . . . some kid had brazed 1/4 in steel on to the body for ‘fat boy’ fenders it was a miserable job and a misrable repair . . . if i knew how i would attach a picture so that you could see the restoration . . . it took us about 7 years . . .blessings! (not many christian, gearheads, in pittsburgh, on blogger!)
