MIKE BRUDENELL: It’s gospel, gears for Shepherd
BROOKLYN, Mich. — Morgan Shepherd found Jesus after a boozy week following the 1975 Daytona 500.

He remembers because he had the mother of all hangovers. So did the young woman who was with him.

“I was so sick, I felt so bad,” recalls Shepherd, 62, the elder statesman of NASCAR. “I’d been partying all week. The only time I felt good was when I was drinking and drunk.”
