Jacksonville, FL (January 24, 2005)- The Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team and Earl Pearson Jr. have committed to run the entire Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series in 2005 in hopes of winning another series championship. After winning the 2004 Stacker2 Xtreme DirtCar Series Championship, Earl and the team were looking forward to defending the series championship in 2005. In the ever-changing climate in the dirt late model industry, the Stacker2 Xtreme DirtCar Series was purchased by Boundless Motorsports. This transaction along with not receiving their point fund monies at the Stacker2 Xtreme DirtCar Series Banquet at the PRI show in Indianapolis caused DBFM to re-evaluate their plans for 2005.
“With all the uncertainty with the series being purchased and the delays in payment of the points fund, we wanted to look at all options for the 2005 season. We did finally receive our points fund monies for the 2004 Stacker2 Xtreme DirtCar Series Championship on January 18, 2005â€, stated Earl from his home in Jacksonville Florida.
The Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team owners Carlton and Kemp Lamm began exploring other options for 2005. One of the many touring series that the team competed with in 2004 was the NARA DirtCar Series. “We raced three times with the NARA DirtCar Series in 2004 and everytime we were very impressed with the management team and staff of the series and how well run the series was. The series also has some of the best talented drivers that run the series in Shannon Babb, Freddy Smith and Mike Marlar to name a few. Now with Lucas Oil making a huge investment into the series as the title sponsor and putting together a winners circle program in 2005, we feel The NARA DirtCar Series is the best option for our team at this time†stated Carlton Lamm form his Ford dealership.“ Spencer Wilson has put together a great staff of employees that are genuinely concerned about the racers, promoters and the fans in this sport. We are excited about coming to Florida and running the series in 2005.â€
“Our goal in 2005 will be to win the Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series championship. The competition will be as tough as they get with what drivers we are hearing will run the series in 2005â€, stated Earl. The Dunn-Benson Ford Motorsports team will begin their season at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick,GA for three races beginning February 3-5th. Then the team will travel to East Bay Raceway Park for the Lucas Oil NARA DirtCar Series “Winternationals†February 7-12th. The team is undecided on the events at Volusia County Speedway the following week at this time.
