Google Map Mystery Solved!!

Posted By Paul on February 23, 2005

Back on the 11th, I posted about how I wished I could see what all the hoopla was about Google Maps, because I couldn’t see anything but a blank screen.

Thanks to reader Chris, who gives a hat tip to Slashdot, I can now see and use Google Maps!
Very cool! Thanks Chris, you’ve shown once again why I always say that SteelerDirtFreak readers are the best readers!

For anyone else interested, here is the tip again to enable viewing Google Maps (if you are have trouble doing so with Firefox):

I have found the fix for blank Google maps in Firefox (courtesy of Slashdot):

Check your JavaScript advanced options in the Preferences. You’ll need “Change Images” and “Disable Or Replace Context Menus” checked.

To get to the correct menu go to Tools > Options > Web Features > Java Script (advanced).

Enjoy.
