A reformational renaissance redneck who likes football, dirt car racing, and photography tries to figure out what it means to follow after the path of Jesus in this post-Christian world we find ourselves in.

Off to Houston….

Well, in just a few hours I’ll be boarding a plane in Cleveland and flying to Houston to spend a week with my Mom and Step-dad. For awhile it looked like things were not going to work out, but then everything came together, so off I go.

And not only that, but my brother is flying in from Chicago for the week-end, so for the first time in well over twenty years, our Mom will have both her sons with her on Mother’s Day.

Looking forward to my time down there; I’ve only been to Houston once before, and that was about 15 years ago. I’m taking my camera (of course) and I’m covering a race Saturday night at Houston Raceway Park featuring the SUPR Late Model Series, so that will be pretty cool, too. I always enjoy covering a new track, and this will be the first time I’ve seen any of the SUPR drivers, so that should be cool, as well.

Oh, one other thing I ought to mention right now is that I have this ‘thing’ about flying and being claustrophobic and panic/anxiety attacks. So if you happen to be reading this before 11:00 am thru till about 2:00 pm on Wednesday, maybe you could offer up a prayer for peace and calmness on my behalf. It’d be greatly appreciated.
