Marcus Vick era at Va Tech is over

Marcus Vick dismissed from team
Man, what a waste. This kid could have had it all. When he was on his game, it was easy to see how he could quite possibly be better than his older brother, Michael Vick.
Given chance after chance, Marcus kept squandering them away. Now, Virginia Tech has done the only thing they possibly do and have permanently removed Vick from the football team. Vick’s football future is up in the air. He may either declare his eligibility for the NFL draft by January 15, transfer to a lower-division school for the 2006 season, or attempt to sign as a free agent with a CFL or arena football team.
What a sad waste….
Update: Marcus Vick has (no surprise here, really) declared for the NFL draft.
“I have decided to enter the NFL draft,” the junior quarterback said in a three-paragraph statement released through his lawyers. “I am very excited about this opportunity and look forward to proving my athletic ability at the professional level. I believe I am ready for this challenge and the next chapter of my life.”
I still think it is a waste. This young man has proven repeatedly that he can not handle responsibility. I hope it does work out for him, but I just don’t know.

mid-round draft at best…unless he really impresses at the combine. too bad.
