A Lent Challenge

Posted By Paul on March 1, 2006

Rob Williams has launched an innovative use of a blog: The Lent Challenge.

This year I want to challenge myself to read the 4 stories of Jesus as told by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the New Testament during the 40 days. I have a simple plan to follow that includes daily reading (sans Sundays). It’s a simple plan and not difficult. Most days I’ll read 2 or 3 chapters.

I want to challenge everyone to join me in this reading. It’ll help keep me accountable to it also.

What he is going to do is to post the daily reading schedule early in the morning each day, and then those taking part in the challenge will read the day’s passage and then share any thoughts or comments on the Lent Challenge blog, interacting with each as we go.

I’m in on this, for sure. I really need to get some focus and structure back in my life, and this is going to be a step in that direction for me.

Rob asks the question

I wonder if taking up this challenge during Lent will change any of us.

I’m looking forward to how it will change me.

Why don’t you join us?
