Anyone else having trouble with Gmail today?   1 comment

Posted at 2:33 pm in Geek Talk, Redneck Musings

My gmail has been terrible today. I’ve been able to access it for about a total of 10 minutes. The rest of the time I get the following message:

Temporary Error (502)

We’re sorry, but your Gmail account is currently experiencing errors. You won’t be able to use your account while these errors last, but don’t worry, your account data and messages are safe. Our engineers are working to resolve this issue.

Please try accessing your account again in a few minutes.

I’m not having any trouble accessing my oyleractionphotos.com email, which is run thru Google Apps (and gmail), so it’s kind of weird.
Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this today.

Greasemonkey, Gmail, and Google Reader   1 comment

Hopefully you are already using Firefox as your main browser, and you have the invaluable Greasemonkey extension installed.

Now, if you are one of the many people that are switching your RSS Reader to Google Reader and you’ve noticed how much the Reader interface resembles the Gmail interface; there is a nifty Greasemonkey script that let’s you easily integrate Google Reader feeds into your Gmail.

A lot of people have remarked on the similarities between the new Reader interface and Gmail’s. With this in mind, I’ve created a simple Greasemonkey script that adds a “Feeds” in Gmail. When clicked, Reader’s list view is loaded on the right

This finally tipped the balance in favor of using Reader instead of Bloglines for me.
